Battle Bots: Engineering the Ultimate Machine
Date: Wednesday Jan 21st to Feb 11
Time:14:00-16:00 (2pm-4pm)
Ages: 8-10
Limit: 10 Students
Cost: £80
Students don’t just build robots to fight—they engineer systems under constraints: power, stability, energy transfer, sensing, control, and structural integrity. Every “battle” is treated as a live engineering stress test, not just a game.
Young engineers design, build, and program their own combat-ready LEGO robots while learning the real engineering behind motion, force, torque, and control systems. Students explore how professional robot designers optimize for speed, power, balance, and durability as they test their machines in a studio-style battle arena.
Across the week, students go through multiple build–test–redesign cycles, learning to analyze failures, strengthen structures, and refine control strategies. The course culminates in a high-energy Battle Bot Arena Showcase, where every student demonstrates both their robot’s performance and the engineering thinking behind it.
