Fortress Siege

Students examine the historical development of siege warfare, with particular attention to the evolution of fortification design and military technology.
The course integrates principles of physics, including force, energy transfer, tension, and projectile motion, to analyze the mechanics of siege engines.
Through this interdisciplinary approach, students evaluate the relationship between engineering innovation and strategic outcomes in historical contexts.
The course culminates in the design and construction of a fortified structure informed by both historical precedent and physical principles.
