Step into the shadows of storytelling in Tales from the Gourd, a one-day workshop where students carve out eerie, enchanting, and unforgettable scenes from their favorite books—inside real pumpkins.

Blending the thrill of Halloween with the depth of literary exploration, this experience invites students to reimagine a dramatic moment, mysterious setting, or unforgettable character as a miniature book nook hidden within a hollowed pumpkin. Along the way, they'll learn the fundamentals of CAD design, 3D printing, and visual storytelling—while embracing the strange, the suspenseful, and the spellbinding.

Using tools from both the digital and physical worlds, students will:

• Analyze scenes from novels, myths, or ghost stories
• Design and print miniature props using 3D modeling software
• Illuminate their pumpkin worlds with flickering tea lights

Whether it's a windswept cliff from a gothic novel, a dark forest from a fantasy tale, or a haunted attic from a mystery story, students will bring the atmosphere of the page to life—one carved gourd at a time.
