Shell Shocked: Engineering the Fall
Term Break
October 27th to 31st
Time: 1 PM to 3 Pm
Limit: 10 Students
Mission Brief: Shell Shocked
Strap in, engineers—this isn’t just another landing. You and your team have been called to save an interstellar pioneer: an intrepid egg-stranaut hurtling toward an uncharted world. The stakes couldn’t be higher.
This alien planet offers no atmosphere—no drag, no parachutes, no second chances. The only thing standing between our fragile scientist and certain disaster is the capsule you design.
Your mission: engineer a capsule tough enough to survive a bone-rattling, high-speed impact. Every choice—materials, structure, shock absorption—will make the difference between a safe landing and a catastrophic crack.
Harness your adaptive thinking, collaborate under pressure, and push the limits of innovation. The countdown has begun… will your design stick the landing, or will the egg-stranaut become cosmic history?
For a full day camp experience, consider adding a morning camp: "Kinetic Creatures of the Abyss" or "Guardians of Nature" Full day campers will need to bring nut-free snacks, a water bottle, and nut-free lunch.
