Sculptural Furniture

In this hands-on course, students become young furniture designers, exploring how creativity and engineering come together. Using Adobe Illustrator, they’ll learn to turn their ideas into precise digital designs ready for laser cutting. Students will dive into design thinking, ergonomics, and structural basics while expressing their personal style. Each design is prototyped, critiqued, and refined through an iterative process. With access to a laser cutter, students bring their designs to life using sustainable materials. Along the way, they gain essential digital and fabrication skills. The result is sculptural furniture—and the confidence to keep designing for the real world.
