The Geometry of Fear: Designing Symmetry and Shape in Halloween Masks!
Wednesday, October 8th
Time: 10 am -12 pm
In this engaging 2-hour workshop, students ages 8–10 will step into the imaginative world of mask making through the lens of design, storytelling, and fabrication. Blending art, technology, and personal expression, this session gives young makers the opportunity to decorate and transform pre-cut mask templates into vibrant, wearable works of art — all while learning about the design process, origin of Halloween Masks, and the magic behind laser cutting technology.
Students will begin with a short, dynamic introduction to laser cutting, watching a live demonstration of the laser cutter in action. They’ll see how digital designs become physical objects and explore how artists and engineers use tools like these to bring ideas to life.
