Designing Gardens

Fridays, June 12th-July 10

Time: 1pm- 3pm

Ages: 8-12

This course challenges students to design a small, integrated garden system that supports human well‑being, pollinator habitats, and environmental sustainability, with plant selections and configurations that ensure seasonal continuity of bloom, food, and ecosystem services. Through research, observation, and iterative design, learners explore plant ecology, pollinator needs, soil health, and seasonal cycles as they develop a functional, year‑round garden plan. The project emphasizes systems thinking, biodiversity, and regenerative design, transforming an empty garden space into a living model of ecological and social benefit.
