Ages: 8-13
Limit: 10 Students
Cost: £300
In this immersive, interdisciplinary drop-in camp, students step into the role of young alchemists, herbalists, and experimenters. Using the kitchen as their “laboratory,” they explore how ancient cultures used herbs, minerals, and everyday ingredients to heal, experiment, and understand the world.
Rooted in the historical practices of apothecaries, early chemists, and kitchen healers from diverse cultures (from medieval Europe to ancient China and the Islamic Golden Age), students will engage in hands-on activities that spark curiosity and creativity.
Through sensory exploration, artifact-making, storytelling, and early chemistry experiments, students will uncover the early roots of science — where observation, transformation, and imagination converged.
